Channels Television React To Allegation Of Staff Assaulting Wife

Channels Television has reacted to the viral video released by the wife of one of its staff, Pius Angbo, who was accused of physical assault.

The media station reacted through its official Twitter handle stating that it does not condone violence against women, adding that the matter was being investigated.

It tweeted: “Channels Television does not condone violence against women or anyone in general.

“The domestic violence matter reported against one of our reporters is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken.”

Pius Angbo’s wife, Ifeanyinwa, a medical doctor, yesterday in a video accused him of physically assaulting her while she was pregnant and even after welcoming their fourth child four weeks ago.

Ifeanyinwa, based in Owerri said Pius has repeatedly been beating her up. She also mentioned that they have 4 kids and that throughout their 6 years of marriage; Pius beats her up even when she is pregnant, and even sits on her tummy.

She showed her battered face, and stated that her husband tried strangling her, even though she just had a baby through a caesarean section, 4 weeks ago.

She said that the latest attack she suffered at her husband’s hand was because she told him to spend money wisely and not on women.

Pius Angbo who is from Benue state has been described by friends on social media as a very gentle, friendly and jovial person. He has been urged by friends who are shocked and saddened by the development to give his side of the story in order to help the public hear and know from both sides.
