NASFAT Organizes Media Workshop For Practitioners And Members

Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT) worldwide organised media skills workshop series for Publicity Secretaries, Public Relations Officers, Missionaries, Youth Leaders, Secretaries of Islamic Organisations and Media Practitioners.

The programme theme: Diffusing Professional Media Skills To Strengthen The Deen, happened at it Fountain University Campus, Osogbo, State of Osun.

The 5 days intensive media skills lecture organized by Department of Mass Communication of the institution started on Wednesday, 28th September to end on Sunday, 2nd October, 2016.

During his formal opening of the programme the Vice Chancellor of the Institution Professor Bashir Adebayo Raji who was represented by Dean College of Management and Social Science of the institution Prof. Abdul Lateef Usman welcome all the participants and count them lucky to have attend the program.

He stressed further by appealing to participants to market the institution to their loves one and family.

Raji also congratulate Dean of Mass Communication for bringing the idea of organizing this kind of event.

“I welcome you all to this training, what you didn’t understand is you are the soil of this institution”.

“I appeal to you all to market Fountain University to the public, we have license to operate this school by National University Commission (NUC).

He enjoined media organizations not to attach all terror acts to Islam because there are several terror act being perpetrated by Christians “Islam is not religion of terrorism but religion of peace, Christians were also involved in all sort of terror act”.

Commenting on the sub theme: Islam Muslim and Media, the Dean Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr Ridwan Adeyemi said he was not surprise by the crisis between Media and Islam “Am not surprise by the current situation we find ourselves. The crisis of Islam and media started during the time of Jews because most of them are Christians but they are scholars of Islam”.

Dignitaries at the meeting include Deputy Chief Missioner, Engr. Abdulaziz Onike; National Publicity Secretary NASFAT, Alhaji Banji Busari; Dean Students Affairs, Dr. A. A. Owolabi; and Head of Siwes Unit, Dr. Nusrat Afolabi.
