Some unknown gunmen suspected to be cattle castle rustlers attacked a police station in Bauchi State on Thursday.
The attackers took police officers at the Giade Divisional Police Station in Bauchi unawares. They reportedly used some explosives to raid the police station.
They also broke into the police cell to free a suspect identified as Illiyasu, who is said to hail from Jigawa State.

The Police spokesman in the state, DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to help apprehend the freed suspect.
