Sunday Oliseh has resigned his position as coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

The former Nigerian international confirmed his exit from the Eagles job on Friday morning in a tweet via his Twitter handle.

However, Aproko247 learnt that he tendered his letter to the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, on Thursday. His resignation is with immediate effect.

“Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, assistant coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach,” Oliseh explained in his tweet.

It would be recalled that the former Eagles captain and the NFF have been at loggerheads for weeks following an early exit of the home-based Super Eagles from the African Nations Championship in January.

Oliseh was highly criticised afterwards, which angered him and forced him to slam his critics in a YouTube video. However, the NFF later said he has apologised, but not publicly like his rant.

Oliseh was appointed by the NFF in July 2015 to replace Stephen Keshi.

He only managed 14 official matches for the Eagles, losing one friendly against DR Congo in Belgium and a CHAN group match against Guinea.
