Obanikoro Rubbishes Lagos PDP Guber Primaries

Obanikoro

Former Minister of Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has described the governorship primaries of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, held in Lagos on Monday as a “sham”.

The former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana was defeated at the primaries by Jimi Agbaje, after he (Obanikoro) had been touted to emerge the party’s candidate based on his experience in governance.

He said the progress was not credible enough to make the man he lost to emerge as the PDP candidate.

“The whole electoral exercise was a sham; the whole process was compromised and predetermined. As far as we are concerned, there was no election today. Hence, no result,” Obanikoro vented his anger on Twitter on Monday night.

Reacting further, the former federal lawmaker said, “I have never seen an election were ballot papers are counted before sorting. No results should have been counted the moment number of votes cast exceeded number of accredited delegates.

“We will fight it and ensure that the right thing is done. Be rest assured that we will fight this to a logical conclusion. Until the necessary corrections are made, we will not rest.”

“It is not over yet. Go home and do not take the laws into your hands,” Obanikoro advised his followers.
