FG Orders 'No Work, No Pay' For Striking Health Workers

The Federal Government has said it will implement the ‘no work, no pay’ policy for the striking health workers across the country.

Members of the National Union of Allied Health Professionals, NUAHP, embarked on an industrial action this week.

The striking health workers are aggrieved over the special treatments being given to medical doctors, which are not being extended to them. They want the FG to always stop making medical doctors heads of the health sector.

According to the striking health workers, they want their members to also head important positions where doctors have always ruled.

In a circular signed by Dr Patience Osinubi, the Director, Department of Hospital Services, Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, the government claimed the strike was illegal.

According to the statement, the striking workers will only be paid for the period they worked. She disclosed that disciplinary action against the workers would soon start.
