Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and member of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir El-Rufai, has stated that he would consider the option of returning to the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, when Satan repents and converts to Islam.
El-Rufai was reacting to a question directed at him on Twitter by a follower after the defection of ex-Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, from APC to PDP last week.
Asked “when do you plan to defect?” the former FCT Minister replied, “when Satan repents and converts to Islam, I will consider the option and then reject it.”
During the tenure of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, when El-Rufai served as FCT Minister, he was a chieftain of the PDP, but later joined the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC.
