Nigeria’s Service Chiefs have been given seven days to rescue the over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State about a month ago by Boko Haram members or resign from office.

This resignation threat was given by an Igbo youth group called Ohaneze Youth Council, OYC.

The socio-cultural interest group disclosed that the saga has now become embarrassing and shameful to the country, also raising an alarm over the influx of illegal immigrants in South East zone of Nigeria.

In a statement released by the Publicity Secretary of OYC, Mazi Obinna Adibe, the military needs to justify the huge budgetary allocations to the nation’s security agencies by doing everything possible to free the girls from those that abducted them.

“We are asking the Service Chiefs to ensure that these girls are released. If these girls are not released in seven days, we will be left with no option than to call on the Service Chiefs to tender their resignation for incompetence,” the group said in the statement.
