The Senate, on Thursday, confirmed the appointment of the new service chiefs nominated by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, after they passed their screening at the Senate. The new service chiefs were screened by the Senate Committee on Defence, Army, Navy and Air Force.
During plenary on Thursday, the red chamber adopted the report of its Committee and confirmed the appointment of the officers.
They were nominated by President Jonathan on January 16, 2014.
Air Marshal Alex Baden is now confirmed as the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Tobiah Minimah as the Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin as the Chief of Naval Staff and Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu as the Chief of Air Staff.
