Defending champions of the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona, have been knocked out of this season’s competition.

Antoine Griezmann scored twice, one in each half, to put his team to the last four.

Just like the first leg before Torres’ red card, the Madrid outfit made Barca looked ordinary as they controlled the match.

Suarez and Iniesta were lucky not to have been sent off by the referee for obvious red card offences, but were lucky to remain on the pitch with yellow cards each.

Suarez used an elbow on his fellow Uruguay international, Godin, while Iniesta deliberately used his hand to stop a goal-scoring opportunity in the 18 yard box. However, the referee pointed to the spot, which Griezmann put behind the net.

Atletico now join their city rival, Real Madrid in the semis as well as Manchester City and Bayern, who beat Benfica at home.
