Nigeria’s Minister for Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, has once again questioned the suitability and competences of the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr.

Dare, who expressed that the three-time African champions deserve a better and more competent head coach, apologised to all football lovers across the country for the outcome of the Eagles’ matches.

The minister made his displeasure known after the performance of the Super Eagles from their last two matches. He has, however, pledged to do the needful to address the issue.

Dare wrote on his twitter handle that, “The performance of the Super Eagles from their last two matches calls to question the suitability and competences of Technical Adviser, Rohr.

“Nigerian football deserves better. The needful will be done. Apologies to all football lovers,”

The Super Eagles had only managed to get two points in two games against the world’s 120th-ranked side, Sierra Leone in the recent Nations Cup qualifiers.

Gernot Rohr led side surrendered a four-goal advantage to draw 4-4 with the Leone Stars in Benin City and could not salvage their already battered reputation with another stale draw in Freetown.

The Minister had earlier insisted that Rohr must up his game if he wanted to retain his job, but his position was misconstrued by people who accused him of planning to hire another coach to replace Rohr.
