Police Arrest Ex-Agege Council Boss, Jubreel Abdul-Kareem

The former Chairman of Agege Local Government, Jubreel Abdul-Kareem, has been apprejended by police in Lagos State.

The ex-council boss was arrested by security operative in connection with the killing of a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nurudeen Olanose, during the party’s ward congress in Agege.

It was gathered that Olanose was killed by thugs allegedly working for Abdul-Kareem who unleashed violence on the people after the completion of the APC local government congress few weeks ago.

Police picked up Abdul-Kareem two days after the unfortunate incident, detaining him at the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

Earlier, police had arrested the suspect’s driver named Bosun Adigun and two others over the incident. Adigun was alleged to have fired the shot that killed Olanose.

However, the former council chief denied having hand in the gruesome murder of Olanose, saying there was an attempt by an alleged camp within the APC to indict innocent party members.

He described the deceased as a reliable party man who belonged to his camp and was loyal to the cause of the progressives.

He implored concerned authorities to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of olanose especially as he was shot dead during the APC LGA congress held at the Central Primary School, Oniwaya Road,  Agege.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and asked God to give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
