Some yet-to-be identified gunmen believed to be cultists have shot dead a former student of the Imo State University, IMSU, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
The victim is said to have concluded his programme at the in August 2015. He was said to have studied Education/Economics.
Aproko247 gathered that the guy, identified as Angel OBrien Ibekwe, was with a friend few minutes before he was gunned down by the suspected cultists.
According to information gathered by our correspondent, the deceased was shot dead at the school’s extension gate around 1:45pm. He was said to have come to the institution on Tuesday for his clearance in preparing for being mobilised for the mandatory NYSC one-year programme.
It was not clear if he belonged to any cult group or just an innocent student killed by the cultists.
Meanwhile, the Student Union Government, SUG, of IMSU has urged students to remain calm.
