The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State has condemned the suspension of its member in the state’s House of Assembly, Kester Kenge, by the House leadership.

The lawmaker, representing Logo state constituency in the House, was suspended on Thursday for alleged misconduct.

He was also accused of granting interviews to the media, which the House leadership frowned at. In the interviews, the lawmaker allegedly discredited principal officers and other members of the House over alleged misappropriation of N750 million cars loan to members.

“We have gathered on good authority that the process which led to the purported suspension of our member was not only flawed in procedure, but also has totally no basis in legality as derives from the Standing Rules of the House.
