Bomb Scare In Abuja, Market Closed

Residents of Wuse area of Abuja were shocked on Tuesday morning to see that roads leading to the Wuse Market were blocked by stern-looking policemen. When some of them sought to know the reason behind the development, they learnt that members of the Boko Haram group planned to carry out a bomb attack in the popular market.

One of the residents of the area, who simply identified herself as Grace, told Aproko247 that this created fear in the minds of inhabitants of the area, who stayed away from the busy market on Tuesday.

“The development created fear in us and led to the closure of the market by some police officers from the Abuja Police Command,” Grace told our reporter.

We were further informed that though many shop owners in the market were not happy that they were denied access to their stores, however, some of them were left with no choice other than to adhere to the directive to close the market for an obvious security reason.
