State Chairmen of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has expressed their solid support for former beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima.
The consortium of AGN state leaders rose from a meeting over the weekend to make known their decision.
Aproko247 reliably gathered that a meeting of the state Chairmen was held in Calabar, Cross River State, and it was agreed that Ibinabo should remain as leader of national body of AGN.
Addressing newsmen after meeting in Calabar, star actor, Victor Osuagwu, who is the Chairman, Lagos chapter of AGN, maintained that Ibinabo remains the only elected president of the Guild.
However, he said the group called on aggrieved groups to allow peace reign in AGN.
It would be recalled that a meeting of stakeholders was held in Awka, Anambra State last month and a committee was set up to take over affairs of the Guild while efforts are made to resolve all issues affecting the body.
However, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, of AGN, Ifeanyi Dike, informed Aproko247 in a phone chat that the committee set up by the stakeholders cannot oversee the affairs of the Guild.
He stressed that Ibinabo is still in charge of AGN.
