NLC Threatens Nationwide Strike Wednesday

All things being equal, the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and its civil society allies will commence a nationwide industrial action next week.

This is to force the Federal Government to rescind its decision to scrap the controversial fuel subsidy and bring down pump price from N145 per litre.

Labour said if the government fails to address the issues, the country would be shut down from May 18, 2016.

It would be recalled that the FG announced a new regime of price on Wednesday that took the pump price of petrol to N145 per liter from N86.50.

It was gathered that labour leaders will not later than Sunday send a letter to government demanding a total reversal to the N86.50 pump price of petrol before 12am on Wednesday, falling which all economic and others would be shut from Wednesday.
