The Emir of Gusau in Zamfara, Ibrahim Bello, has reacted to rumours of his purported death being peddled across the state.

Bello, in a broadcast on Zamfara State-owned radio station on Thursday, informed residents of the state that he was still alive.

He urged them to disregard the rumour because it has no iota of truth in it.

The monarch will be in Saudi Arabia for seven days, according to a statement earlier issued by the Secretary of the Emirate, Sambo Sambo.

Apart from the medical checks the Emir would undergo at the Saudi German Hospital, he will also perform the lesser hajj (Umra).
