The Senator, who represented Jigawa State in 7th National Assembly, has been reported dead.
Senator Abdulmimun Zareko was said to have breathed his last at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital on Monday after protracted illness.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by the Special Assistant to the state governor, Muhammad Badaru, on Media, Bello Zaki, Badaru expressed shock over the death.
The governor described the diseased as a gentleman and a fine lawmaker who had contributed on the development of the state.
“On behalf of myself and good people of Jigawa, I wish to express my condolence to his family and all members of his party and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,” the governor said in the statement.
He said the late Senator would be remembered for his simplicity and humane disposition to issues affecting the masses.
