Arsenal, City, Spurs Slip; United, Liverpool Rise

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City failed to capitalise on Leicester City’s draw on Tuesday to put pressure on the Foxes in the Premier League title challenge.

All the top four clubs on the table except Leicester lost their mid-week league matches, which still leaves the Claudio Ranieri’s side three points above their closest rival, Tottenham, and six points more than Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s men were beaten at home by Swansea 2-1 on Wednesday night, while Spurs were defeated 1-0 by their London rival, West Ham at the Upton Park.

Liverpool took their revenge on City at Anfield after their shock Capital One loss to the Manchester club on Sunday at Wembley. The Merseysiders mauled City 3-0.

United scaled through Watford’s scare at Old Trafford with a late goal from Juan Mata. The Louis Van Gaal’s side still remain rooted fifth on the table with 47 points, same with their noisy neighbours.

Also, Stoke City inflicted a 1-0 win on Newcastle United at the Britannia Stadium.

As it stands now, Leicester are on 57 points, Spurs on 54 points, while Arsenal on 51 points with 10 games remaining.
