Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, has been invited to appear before the Senate next Tuesday to answer questions concerning the increasing Naira depreciation lately.
At the parallel market, the Nigerian currently sells above N300 to a Dollar and this has given many concerned citizens sleepless nights, including the lawmakers.
As at the close of market on Thursday, the Naira exchanged for N302 to $1, having risen to about N305 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
At the plenary presided over by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Thursday, the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, raised a point of order on the issue and called for urgent solution to the problem.
After listening to Ndume, Saraki directed him (Ndume) to convey the Senate’s resolution to the CBN governor.
