The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has debunked news making the rounds that a bomb explosion occurred around Karu Satellite town, suburb of Abuja on Saturday night.
According to a press statement issued by the FCT Deputy Director/Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Hazat Sule, nothing of such happened in the area. Sule described the rumour as untrue.
The statement quoted the FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Obinna Chukwu, as saying the alleged blast is unfounded.
“The FCT Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu, in company of other security agents have combed all the nooks and crannies of the area from Orozo to Nyanya and from Karu up to Mararaba, in Nasarawa State without any sign of bomb explosion,” Chukwu said in the state.
He assured residents that security agencies have intensified the surveillance the entire Federal Capital Territory in order to nip on the bud any of such unfortunate incidents and urged them to be security conscious, vigilant and report any suspicious person (s) or movement (s) to any nearby security agents.
