National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Lai Mohammed, says his nomination as a minister by President Muhammadu Buhari is well-deserved.
The Kwara State-born politician made this known in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital while answering questions from journalists as regards protests that he never voted in the state during the last elections.
Mohammed said nobody or group could deny him of the slot because himself and his family registered in Oro, his hometown, for the voting exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Mohammed described the emergence of his son as a member of Lagos State House of Assembly as his own political reward for his service to the people of the area he represents at the Assembly, which he says has nothing to do with his ministerial nomination.
The APC spokesman further said he personally worked for the development of the party in his local government as well as the success of lawmakers from his region in the last polls.
According to him, in the last elections, his national assignment to the party during the period was more important than coming to cast a single vote in Kwara.
He rubbished claims that he is more of a Lagosian than a Kwaran, pointing out that he can choose to reside anywhere in the country as a citizen of Nigeria.
