CCB: Saraki Snubs Tribunal Again

BUKOLA-SARAKI
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, failed to appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal again on Monday, September 21, 2015.

His counsel, Joseph Daudu, argued that his client did not appear before the tribunal because some issues were not made clear.

The Tribunal had ordered the Inspector General of Police to produce the country’s number one lawmaker before it today after a bench warrant.

Rotimi Jacob, counsel to the Federal Government, pointed out that Daudu failed to produce the Senate President after he promised to do so last Friday.

The Judge explained that the bench warrant issuance was delayed because they wanted to see if Saraki would abuse the privilege given to him to appear honourably.
