D'Tigers Lifts First AfroBasket Championship

Nigeria’s basketball team called D’Tigers, on Sunday, August 30, 2015, defeated Angola to win the AfroBasket Championship in Tunisia.

Angola was beaten by Nigeria 65-74 and it is the first title D’Tigers is winning since the inception of the tournament.

Nigeria now qualifies for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games men’s basketball event.

D’Tigers defeated Senegal in the semis 88-79 to qualify for the finals of the competition.
