Nigeria In War Situation—Olakpe

Former Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Chris Olakpe (rtd), has described situations happening in northern part of Nigeria as ‘war’.

The ex-cop, while speaking as a guest on a Channels TV programme, Sunrise Daily, on Monday, said the country is in a serious war situation with the recent rise in bomb attacks in some parts of the country by Boko Haram members.

Since the Muhammadu Buhari administration commenced on May 29, 2015, over 500 Nigerians have been killed in different bomb attacks by insurgents.

Olakpe, a former police spokesman, urged the government to up the game and asked everyone to be security conscious so as to defeat terrorism in the country.

“Let me state clearly here now, we are in a war situation,” the former Commissioner of Police, Anti Bomb Squad said on the show while reacting to the foiled bomb attack at a church in Jos, Plateau State on Sunday.
