You Can’t Move $500m Oil Project To Bayelsa—Court Tells Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has been directed to halt his decision to relocate a $500 million oil project from Lagos to Bayelsa.

This order was handed over to him by a Federal High Court, sitting in Lagos via an injunction restraining him from carrying out the act.

Jonathan was reported to have concluded plans to transfer the project from LADOL Free Trade Zone, FTZ, in Lagos to Agga in Bayelsa State.

It was said that the President ordered the relevant government agencies to push the oil and gas-related cargoes from Lagos to Intels facilities in Onne, Warri and Calabar Ports, but the court has now stopped the directive.

Delivery the judgement, Justice Tsoho stopped the National Assembly, the Federal Ministers of Transport and Justice/Attorney General of the Federation from effecting Jonathan’s order.
