The N21b Raised Not For Jonathan’s Campaign—Jerry Gana

Former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, has stated that the N21 billion raised during the recent fund-raising at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, was not for President Goodluck Jonathan re-election campaign.

At the ceremony, business gurus, government officials and other individuals donated to the cause.

Shortly after it was learnt that about N21 billion was realised from the event, some Nigerians criticised the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, accusing it of flouting the electoral law.

However, Chairman of the PDP Fund Raising Committee, Prof Gana told journalists on Monday in Abuja that the money was meant to complete the party’s secretariat and other party’s projects that were yet to be done.

Gana told newsmen that the PDP’s abandoned main secretariat in Abuja will require over N10 billion to complete.
