Bomb Explosion Rocks Federal College Of Education In Niger

Almost 72 hours after a suicide bomber attacked a secondary school in Potiskum, Yobe State, another suicide bomber has detonated a bomb at the Federal College of Education in Kontagora, Niger State.

The suicide bomber, a female, died in the explosion as well as another person, who we could not confirm as at the time of filing this report.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon and has caused confusion in the area.

Three other persons are believed to have been injured in the blast.

It was learnt that the suicide bomber detonated her bomb vest near the school’s auditorium.

Police have been deployed to the scene of the incident to bring things under control, while victims are being taken to the hospital.

The blast is coming barely 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan declared his intention to contest in the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria. The event was held on Tuesday in Abuja, which is not far from Niger State, where Wednesday’s blast occurred.
