Professor Pat Utomi has stated that he may run in the 2015 presidential polls if asked to do.
Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the scholar disclosed that if his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the people give him the privilege to contest in the elections in 2015, he will oblige the call.
He told NAN that, “I do not mind running for any other position from councillorship to presidency. The bane of true service in Nigeria is the focus on title. Anyone willing to serve his people must be ready to do so at any level.”
In 2007, Utomi contested for the presidency under the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, while in 2011, he was the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Mega Party, SDMP.
Utomi said he is not too keen in contesting in the polls, stating that he’s currently occupied with his programmes on nation building.
