A 36-year-old rock climber, Brad Parker, has died from a fall in Yosemite National Park few hours after he proposed marriage to his girlfriend, Jainee Dial.
Parker is a veteran rock climber who lives in Sebastopol. He had completed a climb to the summit of Cathedral Peak, where he asked Dial to marry him, which she agreed to.
However, shortly after the lady left, Parker went on to climb alongside another climber, Matthes Crest, who also died in the fall.
It was learnt that late Parker climbed without ropes on the granite crest when other climbers saw him fall around 5:45 p.m.
