Jonathan Sacks NNPC Boss, Andrew Yakubu; Names New GMD

Group Managing Director, GMD, of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, has been removed from office, Aproko247 has confirmed.

Yakubu, appointed in 2012 by President Goodluck Jonathan, was sacked on Friday by the President.

A statement issued by Jonathan’s spokesman, Reuben Abati, on Friday evening, did not give any reasons for Jonathan’s action. Abati announced that Joseph Dawha will replaced the sacked NNPC boss. Other appointments were also announced by Abati.

“The new Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dawha hails from Borno state. He has served previously as the Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production, NNPC and Managing Director of Integrated Data Services Ltd (IDSL), a subsidiary of the NNPC,” Abati said.

1. Anthony Ugonna Muoneke – Managing Director, NPDC
