June 18, 2014 will forever remain indelible in the hearts of political, business and religious allies of the late Oyo State power broker and business mogul, Alhaji Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao as his sudden demise rocked the city of Ibadan.

We gathered that shortly after the news of Arisekola’s death was broken, the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi vacated his office to play host to some of the early callers at Oluwo Kekere home of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland.

Among the early callers were Juju Music maestro, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, former AIG Tunji Alapini, Chief Bode Amao, Chief Kola Daisi, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Moses Alake Adeyemo.

Those in the know also hinted that some of the close associates of the late business mogul were not allowed into the house shortly after the death of the business mogul to avoid massive looting of cash and other valuables while the keys were kept by Chief Oyelade who also took charge of the burial activities.

Although Governor Ajimobi was said to be on a war path with Arisekola before his death, this was put to rest, when Arisekola’s son, Farouk, was appointed as the state’s the Commissioner for Sports.

However political gladiators in the city have described the death of the businessman as a major set back to the second term bid of Governor Ajimobi in 2015, they said that there is no one to give that solid backing to Governor Ajimobi anymore.
