No fewer than 30 observers have been deployed by the United States of America, USA, to monitor gubernatorial election in Ekiti State on Saturday.
This was made known by the US Embassy in Abuja through a statement issued on Thursday. It was disclosed in the release that the polls on Saturday will be an important day in the lives of people of Ekiti State.
Elections are expected to hold in 2,195 polling units in the state.
The US said it would observe the polls with great interest, calling on all stakeholders in the elections to close ranks in making sure the elections are smooth and hitch free.
Ekiti people will go all out to elect their governor. Kayode Fayemi (the incumbent), Ayo Fayose and Opeyemi Bamidele are the major contenders.
