Police Promotes 233 Officers, Punishes 32

Over 200 senior police officers have been elevated by the Police Service Commission, PSC, while 32 officers were have received various punishments for difference offences levelled against them, after the Commission looked into them.

The PSC, at its 5th plenary meeting, reached the decision to reward the officers accordingly. The meeting was held on the June 4 and 9.

Two Commissioners of Police; Chris Olakpe and Grace Okudo were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police, while seven Deputy Commissioners of Police were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police; Henry Fadairo, Victor Ojo, Paul Okafor, Elias Wayemeru, Stella Udosen, Felicia Noelle, and Ovie Oyokomino.

In the same vein, 12 Assistant Commissioners of Police became Deputy Commissioners of Police, while 21 Chief Superintendents of Police were promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police.

Twenty-seven Superintendents were elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police and 15 Deputy Superintendents became Superintendents of Police.

Also, 129 Assistant Superintendents of Police were promoted to Deputy Superintendents, 20, who missed the last Inspectors promotion, were promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Police.

However, two Superintendents of Police, Nyong Enefiok and Offu Ukereke; Deputy Superintendent Eteng Bassey and Assistant Superintendent Mohammed Kashim were all dismissed.

An undisclosed Assistant Superintendent of Police was compulsorily retired, while six unnamed officers were demoted and 10 officers were severely reprimanded. Others were reprimanded or issued Letters of Advice.
