Reports reaching us indicate that the Emir of Kano, Ado Abdullahi Bayero, is dead. The prominent and respected traditional ruler was said to have passed on in the early hours of Friday in Kano.
The highly revered monarch had survived attempts on his life in the past, but the cause of his death today is still unknown.
