Oyo 2015: PDP Must Win–Alao-Akala

A former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, has disclosed that the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, will produce the next governor of the state in 2015, when elections hold in Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists at his residence in Ogbomosho, Alao-Akala, also a former police officer, stated categorically that “there is nothing that can stop the PDP from winning (in Oyo) in 2015.”

The former deputy governor to ex-governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo State also noted that the PDP has “all it takes to return to power in 2015.” “It is just a matter of time,” he assured, boasting that, “everybody will line up behind the person in the front; that I can assure you.”

Addressing speculation that all was not well with the Oyo State chapter of the party, Alao-Akala emphatically said “there is nothing wrong with the PDP executives in the state. Some are aggrieved because they felt disenfranchised and wanted to be part of happenings in the party.”

Speaking on his rumoured comeback to the Agodi Government House, the former governor said, “when the time is appropriate, I will let the people know. For God sake, I am very old in this game and I have the experience.”

“Don’t rule out the possibility that I may come out soon,” he warned, pointing out that, “the signs you are seeing now is that a big masquerade is coming out. You know that the big masquerade dances last. When the big masquerades is out, all others that have been entertaining the people will disappear. I have not asked anyone to come out. They are all eminently qualify.”
