women officers protest

Female officers of the Nigeria Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, held a protest in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital on Thursday to call for the release of the abducted Chibok girls by members of Boko Haram in April.

The women came out enmasse on the street of Lafia, chanting ‘Bring Back Our Girls’, which has recently become the common slogan all over the world on the kidnap. The female security personnel were led by two Assistant Superintendents of Police, ASPs.

The wailing women urged the government to do everything possible to rescue the girls alive and reunite them with their families.

“God, help Nigeria. Save our daughters,” one of the women sobbed.

Prayers were also offered by some Christian and Muslim officers for the safe return of the missing girls.
