Fight Terrorism With Jonathan–First Lady Begs Nigerians

Nigeria’s First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has called for support for her husband, Goodluck Jonathan, in jointly fighting terrorism in the country. The President’s wife made the passionate appeal to Nigerians at a function in Lagos on Thursday.

She urged citizens of the country join hands with the federal, state and local governments to tackle insecurity in Nigeria, noting that the fight is for all, not for one person alone.

The First Lady stated that “terrorism can defeat anyone, including my husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, if he fights alone, because terrorism cannot defeat us collectively.”

She charged Nigerians to unite in putting an end to the activities of Boko Haram in the country.

Patience was speaking at the 44th birthday celebration Gani Adams, who is the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC. The First Lady was represented at the occasion by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Student Matters, Jude Imagwe.

Others at the event were Joseph Evah, Coordinator, Ijaw Monitoring Group; Shina Williams, Special Adviser on Culture to Governor Kunle Amosun of Ogun State; Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, represented by Basorun Akinade; amongst many others.
