Gov Nyako Swears In New Judge

The governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has sworn in a new judge for the state. Justice Ambrose Mammadi was sworn in on Tuesday by the governor as the acting chief judge of Adamawa State.

The ceremony, which took place in Yola, the state capital, was witnessed by eminent legal practitioners in the state, including the state Grand Khadi, Justice Muhammad Mahmud, who administered the oath of office on the new acting chief judge.

Nyako urged the new judge to ensure a good working relationship between the executive and the judiciary in Adamawa State, noting that such would enable the smooth delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

“The state government is doing all it can and very careful to avoid unnecessary tribal, religion or political tension for the development of our people. I pray that the ideal working relationship between the executive and the judiciary will be sustained for the betterment of our state,” Nyako said at the occasion.

On his part, Justice Mammadi expressed gratitude to the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve the state, promising to carry out his assignments without fear or favour to every individual and institution in the state.
