Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, has made a return to Stephen Keshi’s squad for the March Mexico friendly ahead of the World Cup in June. The experienced defender, who commanded a regular in the Nigerian squad since the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan, got an attention from the head coach after he was snubbed by Keshi for the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Yobo made a comeback to the Barclays Premiere League in January 2014 when he moved from Fenerbahce FC in Turkey to Norwich City in England, having first played in England with Everton before moving to Turkey.

Vincent Enyeama has left the squad in the absence of Yobo.

Nigeria and Mexico have met four times with Nigeria winning one, and Mexico winning three. The two teams last met in May 2013 as part of Mexico’s US tour.
