Police Corporal Murders ASP Over 'Shared' Girlfriend

Tragedy visited Gashua town of Yobe State on Friday morning when a police corporal, Bitrus Andrew, allegedly murdered his superior, Olosuji Elegbede, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, recently posted to the area.

The incident occurred after efforts by the DPO in the area failed to amicably settle the uproar that ensued between the two cops over a girlfriend shared by both officers.

It was gathered that Andrew had felt bad after the deceased allegedly snatched his girl of eight years. It was said that the lady in question started a sizzling romance with the deceased, who we also learnt has a car and splashes more money on her than the alleged killer-cop.

When the matter got to the DPO, he (DPO) reportedly warned the junior officer to leave the lady for the late ASP as it was disrespectful for him to share a lady with his superior officer. This angered Andrew and he used his rifle to shoot Elegbede on his chest five times. He was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.
