House Of Reps Member Escapes Mob Attack In Zamfara

Hon Ibrahim Shehu Gusau representing Gusau-Tsafe federal constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, NASS, was lucky to have escaped unhurt when a mob attacked his convoy in the state capital on Saturday when he visited the town.

The lawmaker was said to have arrived the state to attend a meeting with some elders as he’s reportedly nursing a gubernatorial ambition in Zamfara State in 2015.

According to Sunday Trust, Gusau, a member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, was mobbed by some thugs believed to have been hired by some politicians. Some vehicles on his convoy were reportedly touched by the hoodlums.

He escaped into the presidential lodge in Gusau metropolis, while a huge sum of money was stolen by the thugs.

Spokesman of the police was yet to confirm the report as at press time, however, Gusau reportedly told newsmen after the attack that he wondered why he was attacked when he has not even publicly declared his intention to contest for the governorship position.
