Drogba Makes Chelsea Return

Iconic Ivorian footballer, Didier Drogba, has rejoined his former boss and club, Jose Mourinho and Chelsea respectively. The club announced the signing of its former striker, who left the club about one and half years ago to ply his trade in Turkey with Galatasaray.

Drogba, a former African footballer of the year, returns to Stamford Bridge on a one-year deal.

The striker spent eight years with the Blues, winning major trophies with the club.

Speaking on the deal, Mourinho disclosed that Drogba is coming to Chelsea to win more trophies. “He is coming because he is one of the best strikers in Europe. I know his personality very well and I know if he comes back he is not protected by history or what he is done for this club previously. He is coming with the mentality to make more history.”

In his remarks, Drogba said his decision to return to Chelsea was not a difficult to make. According to him, “I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work with Jose again.”

“Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me. My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to the opportunity to help this team. I am excited for this next chapter of my career,” Drogba added.
