The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has picked Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate for the 2023 election.
PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, said a 17-member committee had been set up by the party to pick a running mate and had submitted three names to Atiku to choose from.
Those earlier reportedly shortlisted for screening are Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa; his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike and the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel.
Atiku announced Okowa as his running mate in a tweet Thursday morning.
“I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done,” he said.
