Veteran actor Victor Olaotan, best known for his role in the Nigerian TV series ‘Tinsel,’ is dead.
He died on Thursday after battling a prolonged illness.
The shocking news was confirmed on Friday morning by his wife, Julia.
The 69-year-old actor, who played Fred Ade-Williams in the popular series, was bedridden for five years after he was involved in a ghastly accident along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
Olaotan celebrated his 69th birthday on February, 17, 2021 in a Turkish hospital battling with the effects of a traumatic brain injury he suffered after the accident in October 2016.
His wife, Mrs Olaotan said she is grateful that the 69-year-old actor can finally go to rest after suffering for years.
She added that anytime she spoke to him via video call, she could see that he was fighting.
“He has tried. It is not easy to be trapped in your own body for five years. He can finally rest now.”
