LASU Students to Resume In Batches – VC

In preparation of the resumption of tertiary schools from September, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, has announced that students of the institution are to resume in batches.

Prof. Fagbohun said this while speaking on a radio interview this morning, explaining that students in 400, 500 and 600 levels would resume first before other levels of students come on-board.

The 400, 500, and 600 levels students would resume for duration of two months with intensive lectures starting from 9am – 3pm daily.

After the completion of these levels, students in 200 and 300 levels are also to resume for a period of two month lectures before the commencement of exams.

Resumptions for the students in 200 and 300 levels are divided into different days of the week. On Monday and Wednesday, 300 level students will be on campus for lectures while Tuesday and Thursdays will be for 200 level students. This is in order to maintain social distancing.

The VC said the decision was in a bid to protect the lives of the students and staff of the Lagos State University and prevent the contracting of Coronavirus disease.

He also noted that all precautionary measures to prevent spread of COVID-19 had been put in place by the management.

“Regular hand washing is very important as the university management has provided taps and soap dispenser. Wearing of face mask is compulsory,” the VC said.

Fagbohun said “In line with the NCDC requirement for medical facilities, LASU has a Covid-19 team to keep the university on its toes in ensuring compliance. Isolation places have been provided, also waiting areas and consultation rooms are available in the university.

“LASU is prepared to accommodate students and visitors but are implored to kindly comply with laid –down rules.”
