More than one million people are expected to participate in a one-in-town carnival organized to celebrate the first anniversary of the ascension to the throne of his Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyege Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ile-Ife.
The carnival tagged ‘O ti see se Carnival, 2016’, was not only conceived to celebrate the landmark reign of the monarch, but also to showcase the rich cultural splendour of Ile-Ife and foster unity among the Yorùbá race.
Speaking at a press conference held in the palace of the monarch on Wednesday, Desmond Bushi disclosed that the carnival is also projected to bring all Oodua descendants and well-wishers from different parts of Nigeria and in the diaspora to rejoice at the reign of Ooni Ogunwusi and the Oodua legacy.
According to him, Mainstreetz Promotions and Achiievas Entertainment are working on behalf of Ooni Ogunwusi to host the unique event aimed at showcasing the rich culture and tradition of Ile-Ife to the world.
Speaking on the Europe tour, Barr Toyin Adewale Adeyanju of Africulra International who led his principal members/executive of awards to meet with the Consular General and head of Cultural of German Embassy in Lagos last week said, the tour shall commence on the October 21 to 30, 2016 and this will be the first historical visit of Ooni of Ife to Europe since his enthronement to throne of Oduduwa.
However, the team of Africulra home and abroad has invited all to join the great cultural celebration of Africans in the diaspora.
