There seems to be a cold war brewing between two important figures in Ogun State; Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Senator Solomon Adeola, fondly called Yayi.

The lawmaker is presently at the Senate representing Lagos-West Senatorial district.

The political war between these two politicians under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, if not quickly settled, could wreck chances of the party retaining power in the state in 2019, observers have predicted.

It is no longer a secret that Yayi is aiming to become the next governor of Ogun State, but what is being alleged is that he might not get the backing of Amosun.

It was gathered that the Senator ordered his loyalists in the APC to hold a primary to pick a candidate for the Yewa-South local government election coming up on October 8, 2016. The exercise was said to have taken place at the Oba Kehinde Olugbenle Pavilion in Ilaro.

However, the APC faction loyal to Amosun held its primary at the local government party secretariat on Leslie Road, Ilaro.

While the primary conducted by faction loyal to Yayi produced Mrs Bola Ajayi, the one loyal to Amosun produced Jimoh Taiwo.

At the moment, none of the two factions are ready to shift ground, a thing that is giving leadership of the party at the national level sleepless nights.
