According to reports reaching our news desk, a top traditional ruler in Ogun State, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo, has joined his ancestors.
The monarch is the Akarigbo of Remoland and his palace is located in Sagamu, one of the major towns in Ogun State.
It was learnt that the foremost traditional ruler in the state passed on in the United Kingdom, where he had gone for a medical check-up.
He was said to have breathed his last on Saturday at the hospital.
A resident of Sagamu, who claimed to be in the know, told Aproko247 that, “The Akarigbo has truly joined his ancestors.”
“Almost everyone in Sagamu has heard the news, but the palace is yet to officially announce the Oba’s demise. There is tension in the town at the moment. The Oro festival started on Tuesday and might have to be extended because of this latest development,” the resident, who begged not to be named, added.
